Chapter One – 18, 19
All right. One more double page and then we’re back to normal updates and I’ll reset the bar. I’m totally a sellout who’ll provide extra updates for money. But because I’d always planned for the last two pages to be one update I felt kind of cheap doing just one double page this week. So you guys get four pages this week omg. (hand falls off) Also because there isn’t a lot of interaction in this part I figure it would be nice to get tooooooo the next scene.

I sprained the crap out of my ankle. And I sleep on a bunk bed. So now I can’t get into bed. So I have to sleep on the futon. And I don’t actually know how to make it go back into the couch shape. Oh well. I’ll figure that out later when I can walk properly.

Danny: Nooooo not the internet. Yeah, I figure that’s something you’ll just have to deal with all through college. And yes, there are other gates! The title of the story is Stargazer’s Gate… and this gate is not Stargazer’s Gate. The title of the chapter should be a hint as to which gate this one is. ^_^
None of the text is particularly important. It’s designed to be visual clutter, to give the ambience I intended for this place. An underlying hum of messages and advertising and graffiti and trival conversations. So if you can’t read it, don’t worry, and if there’s something you WOULD like to know what says, I’d be happy toh elp.
GeneseePaws: Well, this isn’t the last you’ll see of the room with vines in it. And glowyshinyroom isn’t the only other location in the story. I intend on experimenting a bit, though, like the page up there, sometimes regular panel dividers do exactly what they need to do too!

Good to see you working on a new comic! (Yes now I know you started awhile ago, this is what I get for not being lazy on keeping up with the SF forum…) Looking very good so far, keep up the good work! And sorry to hear about the ankle, hope it heals up soon.

See? These are the effects I picture in my head when I read 9-Princes in Amber; when Corwin walks the pattern. Gosh, it just seems like that is what it looks like when one has to walk to another dimension, the light, the sparks, everything is perfect. Well, except the audio. Thee’s no audio with this. But still it is perFect graphics, in my mind’s eye.
This is awesome. I followed a link from dreamscar and I really like what you’re doing here. I may not comment very often, as I work a lot of overtime and don’t always have time to read all my comics every day, but I’m definitely following you from now on! And I agree with GeneseePaws that this looks like walking the Pattern in the Amber novels.
Oh, don’t worry about having to comment every day. I appreciate the occasional comments as much as I do the regulars, and your life is way more important than my ego. Thank you for the glowing compliments. As I said above, I haven’t read the Amber novels but I’ll have to check them out if I get some time. Would you prefer I reply to you in the actual comment section here rather than putting comments under the next comic’s news notes?
